Commemoration at the Burma Star Memorial

Annual Remembrance Service and Wreath-Laying Ceremony

The Royal British Legion Poole Branch will hold its annual VJ Remembrance Service and Wreath-laying Ceremony at the Burma Star Memorial in Poole Park at 11 a.m. on August 15.

Veteran associations, serving members of the Armed Forces, and their families, are welcome to attend. We will be joined by members of the Poole Town Council and other dignitaries and civic leaders to honour those who fought valiantly for the freedoms that we enjoy today.

People are requested to assemble 20 minutes before 11 o'clock, at which time we will pause for a moment of reflection in memory of those who did not return and those who suffered as a consequence of their service.
